How to Combine PDF Files Into One
Updated
Job applications and university forms often ask for one PDF, but your CV, certificates and ID copies are all in separate files. Here's how to join them neatly.
Step 1: gather your files
Make everything a PDF first. Use Word to PDF for documents, and Image to PDF or Scan to PDF for photos. Remove any passwords with Unlock PDF, as locked files can't be merged.
Step 2: merge them
Open Merge PDF and select your files. If they're in different folders, press Add more files. Use the arrows to set the order, as the top file becomes the start of your document. Then press the button.
A sensible order for an application
- Cover letter, if you have one.
- CV.
- Degrees and certificates, with the newest first.
- ID copies and other supporting papers.
